Double gluedown — also called double stick — is a flooring installation where adhesive is used both to bond the underlayment to the subfloor and to bond the floor covering to the underlayment. It is common in multi-residential and multi-commercial dwellings where a moisture barrier, acoustic layer, or other underlay is specified together with a gluedown wood or vinyl floor.
Deccobond 381 Gluedown Hardwood Flooring Adhesive is used for this installation. It can bond to numerous floor underlayment surfaces, including smooth polysheet vapor barrier, polyfoam, metalized acoustic foam, vinyl backed acoustic foam, Teflon surface, EPDM rubber, reflective thermal barrier, and cork.
